The San Diego Metro Arson Strike Team and the San Diego Fire Department Bomb Squad have announced that Cox Arena is safe to occupy for the start of today's NCAA Basketball Tournament Round 1 games. The arena was evacuated at 9:40 a.m. PT after a suspicious substance was discovered in a vendor cart by a canine unit. An investigation concluded there was no hazard. Cox Arena was reopened shortly after 11:30 a.m. PT.

The revised timetable for today's NCAA Basketball Tournament Round 1 games at Cox Arena is as follows:

12:50 p.m. PT Marquette University vs. University of Alabama
3:05 p.m. PT (approx.) UCLA vs. Belmont University
5:30 p.m. PT University of Illinois vs. Air Force
7:55 p.m. PT University of Washington vs. Utah State
