FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SDSU Still Open to Graduate Students for Spring
2004
SAN DIEGO, Monday, August
11, 2003 - While enrollment and budget pressures have led San Diego
State University to suspend its spring 2004 admissions cycle for
undergraduates, graduate students can still apply to attend SDSU
next January.
Janis Andersen, interim dean
of SDSU's graduate division, says most of SDSU's 64 master's degree
programs and 13 doctorate programs are still accepting applications
for the spring 2004 semester. Space in those programs for the spring
is made available as students graduate at the end of the fall 2003
semester. Deadlines to apply to those programs range from September
15 to November 1.
"We want potential graduate
students to know that the recent move by the California State University
to close spring admissions does not apply to the graduate programs,"
Andersen said. "We will have space available in many areas
and encourage people to apply."
