      SDSU African American History Expert and Event    
         
     

SAN DIEGO, Friday, February 1, 2002- San Diego State University offers the following black heritage expert from the Department of Africana Studies to discuss different issues relating to Black History Month.

Dr. Shirley Weber, Chair of Africana Studies Department - Weber can discuss various aspects of black heritage and culture, including history, food, art, music and more. Weber can also provide insight into some of the more influential figures in African American history and other related subjects. African American History Month Event- Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth, who was one of five organizers of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1957, will be in Aztec Center's Casa Real for a lecture and film starting at 9 a.m., Monday, February 11.
