SDSU President Stephen L. Weber Statement on John Moores

SAN DIEGO, Friday, Oct. 18, 2002 – San Diego State University President Stephen L. Weber offers the following comment on John and Becky Moores' relationship with SDSU:

"John and Becky Moores are among the most generous friends San Diego State University has ever known. Their donations paved the way for SDSU to attract top coaches and student-athletes and put our Athletics department on a promising path to success. It was John Moores who challenged us to make the Sports Deck the architecturally impressive structure it now is, and John Moores who gave us the vision of Aztec Walk that will soon transform our campus. The private support of generous individuals like John and Becky Moores has made a critical and lasting contribution to the overall excellence of San Diego State University. I am proud to count John Moores as a friend and am grateful for all he and Becky have done for SDSU."
