Nation's Top Journalists Ponder
"The Future of Electronic Journalism in the Age of the Internet"
Three of the nation's top journalists will discuss "The Future of Electronic Journalism in the Age of the Internet" at a seminar on Jan. 25 sponsored by the San Diego State University International Communications Council.
Featured speakers will be John Martin, award-winning, national correspondent for World News Tonight With Peter Jennings, Nightline and other ABC broadcasts; Michael Silberman, executive editor of MSNBS.com; and Adam Clayton Powell III, vice president of technology and programs for the Freedom Forum.
The 11:30 a.m. program will be held at the KPBS Copley Telecommunications Center in Studio A, located at 5200 Campanile Drive on the SDSU campus.
Speakers will present individual remarks and engage in a panel discussion that answers questions from the audience. The speakers will explore the status, quality, progress, challenges, impacts and relationships of television news and Internet journalism. They will also provide insights into what actions the news media must take to provide the best possible information to the public as well as what the public needs to do to have access to that information.
