SDSU Partnership Named to ‘Top Three List’ of Nation’s Best Teacher Education Programs
A unique partnership between San Diego State University’s College of Education, O’Farrell Community School and Morse High School has been named one of the top three teacher education programs in the nation. Known as the Teaching, Technology and Restructuring Partnership, the program was one of three national finalists for the Distinguished Program in Teacher Education, presented by the Association of Teacher Educators, a national organization committed to research and development in teacher preparation. Under the partnership, SDSU’s School of Teacher Education and Department of Education Technology employ state-of-the-art educational technology to prepare future teachers for middle and secondary schools. Nancy Farnan, professor of teacher education, and Bernie Dodge, professor of educational technology, co-direct the program. O’Farrell is a nationally recognized middle school and San Diego charter school. Morse is engaged in innovative educational reform.
