Thousands to Explore ‘Quality through Diversity’ at SDSU Open House, February 21

Several thousand parents and students from throughout California will visit San Diego State University, Saturday, February 21, to explore opportunities and benefits at SDSU’s 4th Annual Open House.

The event is from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Parking is free. Visitors are advised to dress comfortably and wear walking shoes.

Dr. Stephen L. Weber, SDSU president, and Carlos Razo, president of SDSU Associated Students, will welcome guests at opening ceremonies at 8 a.m. in Cox Arena.

Parents and students will have an opportunity to meet with faculty, staff and students to learn about the University and what it offers them.

Following the theme, "Quality through Diversity," the day-long event will include workshops on financial aid, freshmen success programs, campus safety, housing, and more. Student organizations will host an information fair to answer questions about life at SDSU.

Also offered will be tours of the campus, including the library, athletic facilities, and new recreation center.

"This event demonstrates our commitment to our students and the excellence of our academic program," Carole Robasciotti, assistant Dean for Student Affairs in the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts, said. "Parents and students will have an opportunity to sample the University environment, meet our faculty, interact with our current students, and to share the excitement our campus has to offer. We want our guests to leave SDSU with the satisfaction that they have made the right choice."

Last year’s event attracted more than 8,000 people.
