"Star Trek" Cinematographer to Give Free Seminar at SDSU

 

WHAT: Andrew Laszlo, famed cinematographer for such hit movies as "Star Trek," "Poltergeist," and "The Out of Towners," will give a free, two-day seminar on the art of cinematography at San Diego State University. Laszlo, who has received every major industry award, will talk about the creation of the image and the technical issues facing the director of photography. The seminar is open to film students and teachers from area colleges and universities, as well film and television professionals in all aspects of the industry. (SPACE IS LIMITED)

WHEN: 8:00 a.m. to 5:50 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6.

WHERE: Room 108 of the Family Studies Building on the SDSU Campus.

BACKGROUND: The seminar will be presented in five segments: (1) Point and Shoot Cinematography;

(2) Night Shooting with Extensive Lighting;

(3) Day-Night Shooting on Sets Built on Location and Shooting on Sound Stage;

(4) Shooting the Large Budget Musical, and

(5) In Camera Special FX.
