San Diego State University Celebrates Islamic Awareness Week

 

WHAT: In an effort to introduce and explain Islamic beliefs and practices to the university and surrounding communities, the Muslim Student Union at San Diego State University will be celebrating Islamic Awareness Week. The event will feature Islamic speakers, exhibits, literature, art, replicas, Quramic recitations and Middle Eastern food.

WHEN: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., November 9-12, 1998.

WHERE: Casa Real at Aztec Center on the SDSU campus.

BACKGROUND: Islamic Awareness Week is sponsored by SDSU’s Muslim Student Union and the Office of Educational Opportunity/Ethnic Affairs. The celebration is part of the "Campus Conversations: The Realities of Diversity" series.
