Anniversary Memorial Tribute to Three Slain SDSU Faculty, Aug. 15
A memorial tribute will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, August 15, in the Aztec Center Courtyard of San Diego State University, in remembrance of the lives and contributions of Chen Liang; D. Preston Lowrey, III; and Constantinos Lyrintzis. The three SDSU engineering faculty members were slain one-year ago while convened to hear a master’s thesis defense.
There will be comments from the families, special guests, and the University community and presentation of two scholarships: The D. Preston Lowrey, III, Memorial Scholarship to Ulises Balestrini, a graduate student in mechanical engineering; and the College of Engineering Memorial Scholarship to Olubukola Afolayan-Jejeloye, an undergraduate student in aerospace engineering.
Parking will be available at all lots east of College Avenue. Permits will not be necessary. For further information, call 619/594-5248.
