Fall lecture series will look at "India: Then and Now"

The political climate, ethnic issues, economy, and other factors that define India today and reflect the changes that have occured in the past 50 years will be the theme of SDSU’s fall ‘97 lecture series, "India: Then and Now."

The first lecture will be "The Changing Political Landscape in India" by Dr. Mohinder Singh, on Saturday, September 13, at 10:30 a.m. in San Diego State University’s International Student Center, 5433 55th Street. Free parking is available adjacent to the Center.

Dr. Singh is editor of "India Journal." Before joining the Journal, he taught journalism and public relations at Indian universities and worked for major English newspapers in India. Dr. Singh also was the deputy press secretary to President Giani Zail Singh.

His lecture is free and open to the public; however, a reservation is required for the no-host luncheon which follows the program. To make a reservation, call Dr. M.C. Madhavan, 594-5492.
