Last year, The PLF created a new type of investment: The President’s Leadership Fund Awards for Faculty and Staff Excellence. Establishing these awards was a natural evolution of The PLF’s work given its long-held commitment to rewarding deserving faculty and staff members.

The people of SDSU - its Minds that Move the World – deserve encouragement and recognition for their important work. They will help us retain the stellar teacher-scholars and dedicated staff members who enrich our students’ experiences, attract the best and brightest students, contribute ground-breaking, application oriented research, create academic programs of distinction and are deeply and meaningfully engaged in the community.

The PLF confers up to five awards of $5,000 each annually, which the recipients must re-invest in their important work at San Diego State.

Nominations are no longer being accepted for this year’s awards.

Qualifications

Potential awardees must:

• be nominated by a supervisor or colleague (no self nominations)
  
• exemplify the PLF principles of innovation, excellence and entrepreneurship
  
• have a completed nomination submitted on his/her behalf
  

Awards are determined by a select group of civic and business leaders who have close ties to the university.
