Giving to the Division of Undergraduate Studies
Our Division
The Division of Undergraduate Studies develops and enhances San Diego State's learning communities by fostering inquiry, interdisciplinary study and academic achievement. By continuously improving and adapting academic programs and services, we nurture our students' ability to learn, to respect a diversity of peoples and ideas and to work toward social justice and a prosperous future. Through these efforts, our division creates opportunities within our university and surrounding community for creativity, collaboration, innovation and academic excellence.

Our Vision
Our division is centered on student learning, with a focus in three primary areas;
1) An interdisciplinary philosophy of education that emphasizes global problems and challenges;
2) Understanding the applications of technology and anticipating the future of education; and
3) Demonstrating to our students the importance of their connection to the community by encouraging active engagement.
Our key obligation is to provide students with opportunities to learn, extend their sense of what is possible and encourage them to achieve beyond their expectations. We strive to graduate leaders who will make the world a better place.
Our Fundraising Focus
- University Honors Program: SDSU's Honors Program provides academically gifted students with a challenging, intellectually rigorous curriculum. Built around interdisciplinary courses, a dedicated core Honors Program faculty, a residence hall that serves as a living/learning community (for freshmen and sophomores), international study abroad and community-based service learning, this program ensures that our high achieving students excel at all levels.
- Scholarships: Scholarships enable us to recruit outstanding students who have achieved national academic recognition and academically gifted students whose economic situation is an obstacle to pursuing a college education. In addition, scholarships support international study abroad opportunities, undergraduate research, scholarship and creativity, thereby allowing students to expand their academic experiences beyond the boundaries of our campus.
- People, Information and Communication Technologies Program: This interdisciplinary program ensures that students taking general education courses at SDSU gain the skills and abilities to use technology effectively regardless of their major. Focusing on the way information, communication and technology shape our world, faculty and students work together to gain ICT skills to address real world problems.
Our Request to You
